On Oct 19th Homer lost his battle with bladder cancer. Homer arrived at BAGS December of 2014 after he had been turned into an Ohio kill shelter twice. Because of the constant shuffling, Homer was insecure. It became obvious he was attention starved and didn't want to compete for attention in his foster home. Thus made him a candidate for a single dog home. The perfect family came a long and worked with him through training courses to help him acclimate and to learn to socialize with other dogs. As the years went by, they continued to send pictures of traveling adventures where they stayed in B&B's where Homer got his own goodie bag and met other doggie friends. Homer will be forever loved & missed by Ralph & Smitty Gallagher.

Homer was rescued from an Ohio kill shelter after his family no longer had the time to care for him. At 7 years home, this was Homer's second home. His first family also wasn't able to care for him and gave him up as well. Although his story is sad, this didn't stop Homer for continuing to seek affection. His foster mom had nothing but great things to say about him. He LOVES people and isn't all that fond of other dogs. It's as if he has never been with them. He is good with cats and mostly ignores them. Home is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped and on a flea/heart worm preventative.
